The main highlight of Kodak Ektra is it’s camera. It has a 21MP rear shooter and a 13MP front camera for your selfies. The display is a 5 inch Full HD one. It is equipped with a 3000mAh battery with 5V / 2A charging support.
Kodak Ektra Camera Features
The rear 21MP camera has an F2.0 aperture lens and supports PDAF. It also has Optical Image Stabilization built in. 4K recording is supported out of the box. Since this is a camera centric smartphone, the default camera app has a Manual Camera mode built in that supports RAW DNG shooting and Manual controls. You can adjust shutter speed, ISO, White Balance etc in this Pro Mode. For editing raw files and regular jpeg images, Kodak is shipping this with Google’s Snapseed photo editor. It also features a dedicated Camera Key on the side like we see on many Sony Xperia mobiles.
To give you a DSLR-like experience, this Kodak smartphone comes with an intuitive touchscreen that has a DSLR dial (with haptic touch) which makes it easy to change photographic settings in no time.
Important Note before buying Ektra : This smartphone was launched back in Jan 2017 in the US. If you check many Initial reviews online for Kodak Ektra, you would notice most reviews say bad things about the Camera. Cnet subtitle reads “Kodak Shouldn’t have made this Phone”. Since then, Kodak has updated it’s camera software, resulting in better image quality. However, it is not clear if the Ektra available in India features all these improvements. You can read Full Cnet Review from here.
