Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have just went through FCC certification process, officially confirming the existence of these upcoming flagship smartphones. Like the last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, these too will feature curved, bezel less Super AMOLED screens and high end Exynos and Snapdragon processors.
- Expected Launch Date in India : March – April 2017
- Model Names Revealed : SM-G960F , SM-G965F
- Galaxy S9 Expected Price in India : 70K – 80K
In the US, Galaxy S9 series will ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset while in India and some other countries, these will be powered by a Exynos 9810 Chipset. This has been the case for a few years now. Both are high end, very capable processors, hence you won’t notice much difference in any performance whatsoever.
One notable improvement rumored on these upcoming devices is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. Samsung might experiment with an under the display fingerprint sensor, or will move the sensor position on the back to a more accessible central region. On current Galaxy series – Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note 8, they are placed adjacent to the camera, which is not an ideal place to put it.
